Jackson fans in global mourning
For those unable to attend Michael Jackson's memorial in Los Angeles - fans are saying their final goodbyes any way they can.
From Japan to Germany, people around the world are paying tribute to the King of Pop in their local communities.
In Tokyo, fans attempting a last farewell reached for his hand-print, cemented in this display.
Other people scooped up Jackson albums and dvds - helping propel the pop star into the top ten music charts - a trend in many countries around the world.
People here say even in death, Jackson continues to inspire.
Chiaki Takakura, 20-Year-Old College Student, saying:
"I love to dance, and I thought Michael Jackson was good and original. In fact, I started my dancing lessons after I watched his Thriller music video."
In Berlin, as many as 10,000 fans will be down at the O2 arena to watch the live coverage of the ceremony for free.
Fans here said they didn't want to be alone, that they wanted to take part in the comraderie.
Tabea Trenn, Fan, saying:
"Because it's different from just sitting in front of the TV and adds that bit of meaning."
Fan Ahmed Kremer, saying:
"I just want to be there. I loved this man, I love his music. It is a shame - we killed him with all the badmouthing."
The memorial ceremony in Los Angeles is expected to be one of the biggest the world has ever seen in recent times, with as many as a quarter of a million people expected.

This is my tribute to Michael Jackson. I chose Human Nature because because it's just Human Nature.
JACKSON'S FANS MOURN LOSS
Fans of Michael Jackson mourned the singer's sudden death by creating a candlelight memorial outside his rental home in the upscale Holmby Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles on Thursday night (June 25, 2009).
Fans began to gather at the home soon after word spread that the 50-year-old "King of Pop" had died Thursday at a Los Angeles hospital, where he had been rushed in full cardiac arrest after collapsing at his nearby home.
Few details were known early on Friday (June 26, 2009) about the circumstances surrounding his death, but the entertainer was reportedly unconscious and not breathing by the time he arrived at UCLA Medical Center, and doctors were unable to revive him.
For many, the news seemed surreal.
"I thought it was a joke, It hasn't sunk in yet," explained Heather Zagoni, of Los Angeles. " know that he is gone, but I am not feathering it yet. It is something that I just can't believe it. It is such a tragedy."
A large crowd had also gathered outside the Jackson family home in Encino, California, a suburb of Los Angeles.
"This is a historical, national treasure, a world phenomenon," said Eric Casa, a longtime Jackson fan. "He is the greatest artist in the history of this planet. There will never be another Michael Jackson. It is just a great loss."
Jackson is considered one of the most successful entertainers of the past century, with a lifetime sales tally estimated at 750 million records and 13 Grammy Awards.
But Jackson's reputation as a singer and dancer was overshadowed in recent years by his increasingly abnormal appearance, and bizarre lifestyle, which included his friendship with a chimp and a preference for the company of children.
He was twice accused of molesting young boys and was charged in 2003 with child sexual abuse. He became even more reclusive following his 2005 acquittal and vowed that he would never again live at Neverland.
Authorities have scheduled an autopsy for Friday. But they cautioned that it could take weeks to determine a cause of death, which will likely have to wait for the return of toxicology tests. Those tests will determine if Jackson had any drugs, alcohol or prescription medications in his system.
He is survived by three children named Prince Michael I, Paris Michael and Prince Michael II.
